What a great night in Brooklyn last night for The Beer Friends. We got there early and took advantage of all the rare pours. All 3 Gorilla Warfare pours were awesome. This Beer Friend’s favorite was the Coffee Hopped Cask pour, but I wouldn’t kick any of the three out of bed. Also, an incredible treat for us was the Hops of Love. I was amazed that one brewery could have two IPA’s (more…)
If you missed it last night, a few of The Beer Friends took some time to go out to a Sly Fox Brewery event. Here is how some of the night transpired as told to the internet.
Blogger’s note: If you will notice how the sentence structure subtly deteriorates throughout the night. I’m not sure why exactly, but that always seems to happen that way.

It is once again Thursday and a popular day to go out for happy hours after work. No surprise here, I’m going to suggest you go out to a Craft beer bar for your post work drinks.
There’s a new kid in town, and he’s getting a lot of attention.
McNeill’s Brewery of Brattleboro Vermont has come down to New York after 26 years of brewing. Legend has it (a bartender told me) that McNeill’s had always just been brewed and served only for their brewpub in Brattleboro. They were never brewing enough to get their beer to any great area outside of their locale.
I’m not sure if this was due to financial restraints or due to choice. Either way, it is here now and I am happy about it. I have yet to have their darker stuff, but the two Amber ales (Firehouse Amber, Ruby Extra Amber) I had were both delicious.
I have seen McNeill’s at a few bars over the past couple weeks. 3 craft beer bars (The Pony Bar, Blind Tiger, and Barcade) all have a McNeill’s beers listed on their websites.
